Patricia A. Helfert 74, of Evansville passed away at home on April 1, 2024. Patricia was born October 24, in Detroit, MI to the late Reba I. Turner (Mason) and was eventually adopted by the late James Mason.
She graduated from Reitz High School, where she was a cheerleader, and went on to attend Lockyear School of Business. Patricia worked as a receptionist at VISIONS 3 Hair Salon for over 20 years. Patricia worked up till her dying days. She always said, " I want to keep my brain active and everyone I know, that retires early, seems to die young." She loved her job, the people she worked with and her customers. They had become her family too.
Patricia enjoyed going to Hacienda First Ave on Saturday afternoons having chips, salsa and a diet coke. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and her puppy.
Patricia was of Christian faith, enjoyed listening to David Jeremiah , loved reading her Bible everyday day and lived by Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."
Patricia is preceded in death by her late husband John E. Helfert Sr. and brother James Mason.
She is survived by her children Monica L. (Richard) Hopper, John E. (Andreanela) Helfert, Nicholas-Jon Helfert. Grandchildren, Brayden N. Helfert, Tyler W. Hopper and Brooklyn Lutz Helfert; sisters Peggy Strahl and Lisa Mason Hammers.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel 4200 Stringtown Rd. Evansville, IN Family and friends may visit from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, the family has asked that donations be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses, It Takes A Village No Kill Shelter or Vanderburgh Humane Society.
