Patricia A. Plassmeyer, 84, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories in her beloved hometown of Evansville, Indiana. She was born to John and Dorothy Wall. Pat was a lifelong Hoosier who knew the city inside and out.
She had a meaningful career, but her real pride was her family. As a mother and grandmother, she was the center of countless gatherings, the maker of legendary cheeseburgers, and the host of a home where all were welcomed. Later in life, she found a different kind of joy in the quiet of the country, where she spent hours on the porch enjoying her rock garden and a warm breeze.
Patricia had an unapologetic sense of style…big hair, bold fashion choices, and was an Elvis fan for life. She lived fully, loved deeply, and left her mark on everyone lucky enough to know her. Like the sunflowers she adored, Pat had a way of turning toward the light and bringing warmth to everyone around her.
She was active in the Daniel Wertz PTA for many years. In her younger years, she taught Sunday school at Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth A. Plassmeyer; her son, Johnny W. Plassmeyer (wife Kimberly); and her grandchildren Nicholas J. Plassmeyer (wife Nadan), Megan P. Messick (husband Lucas), and Noah R. Plassmeyer.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ken A. Plassmeyer; her sister, Carolyn S. Happe; and her parents, John S. Wall and Dorothy C. Wall.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Alexander Memorial Park – Heritage Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Dr., Evansville, IN 47720 with Pastor Terry Gamblin officiating. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the cemetery chapel on Tuesday. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum.
