Patricia Shingleton

Patricia Ann Shingleton, 79, went to Heaven March 24, 2024, to join her children and many members of her extended family. Pat was born May 25, 1944, in Evansville, Indiana to Dean Lewis Harper and Lorraine Augusta Gray.

She attended Lincoln High School. She married Philip Winston Taylor (Big Phil) and had two children, Phil Winston Taylor, (1963 - 2000) and Tammara Ann Taylor (1965 – 2021). Pat’s children were married to Nora Taylor and Douglas Alan Gunn, respectively. The family moved to Saint Louis, Missouri. Later Pat and Big Phil were divorced and she remarried Hershel Shingleton and moved to Olivette, Missouri, then to Saint Ann, Missouri. In 2014, she joined her daughter, son-in-law, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild in Cape Coral, Florida. In 2022, after two hurricanes in a row, she and the other family members moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she resided until she was called Home.

Pat was predeceased by her two children and one sister, Lucille Augusta Tinch (1942-2003).

She is survived by her four grandchildren, Michael Philip Taylor (b 1987) and Chase Sebastian Taylor (b 1990), Taylor Mariah Sims (b 1992), and Marissa Symone Sims (b 1995); sisters, Violet, Milan, and Robin; and her two brothers, Donald and Lawrence.

Patricia lived a love filled life and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Alexander East Chapel with Rev. Jeff Long officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
