Patty Marie Wade, 94, of Evansville, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2020. She was born on Tuesday, December 8, 1925 in St. Francisville, Illinois to Robert and Mary Elizabeth “Molly” (Tarpley) Harness.
She retired in 1987 after 28 years at Hoover Ball and Bearing. Patty was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved God and served Him with her whole heart and that overflowed on everyone she met. Patty had a tremendous faith in God and she was a great prayer warrior. She herself was a walking miracle as she sustained a brain stem stroke at the age of 76, and made a full recovery. Patty enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and genealogy studies. After her retirement, she became a demo lady at the grocery store where she loved meeting and making friends, meeting customers, sharing smiles, and opportunities for kindness. Prior to moving to Evansville in 1989, she was a member of Bethlehem General Baptist Church for 30 years. Patty served the Lord there in various ministry opportunities. While in Evansville, she was a member of Bible Center Cathedral.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Leon Wade; grandson, Michael Wade, six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Connie Wade; son-in-law, Dave Wilson; and six siblings.
She is survived by her children, Donald Wade (Rebecca), Karen Salamone (Sam), and Mary Ann Wilson; grandchildren, Kyla Wade, Leslie Davis, Daniel Wade Wilson, and Michael Wilson; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nephews.
The family would like to thank Bethel Manor and MSA Hospice for their loving and professional care. We have no words to adequately convey our gratitude for all of their compassion.
