

Paul Alfred Skelton, 67, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015, at Deaconess VNA Charlier Hospice Center. He was born February 19, 1947, in Evansville, to the late Virginia Skelton (mother) and the late Sam Skelton.
He attended Reitz High School in 1966 and entered the United States Army on August 3, 1967. He served in Vietnam from December 19, 1967, thru December 19, 1968. He was employed at Alcoa for 17 years. He loved sporty cars and also had a love for animals, especially their dog, Channi Rose, and their cats. His greatest passion was for horses.
Paul was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sam and Virginia Skelton; brother, Charles Skelton; sisters, Barbara Parchman and Mary Garrett; and aunt, Margaret Skelton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Paula; sisters, Ella (Wilton) Boyd of Evansville, Marketta Pearson of Detroit, MI, and Olena Ellens of Austin, TX; uncle, Clyde Skelton; brothers-in-law, Rev. David (Susie) Sininger and Charlie (Cathy) Sininger; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and friend, Paul Baker.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Memorial Baptist Church, 645 East Canal Street, officiated by Rev. Adrian Brooks, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, and Tuesday from 9:00 until service time at the church.
Paula would like to give special thanks to caretakers, Bridgett Garnett, Joe and Colton Phelps, and Retina Tidwell for their help with caring for Paul; and also to Deaconess VNA Charlier Hospice Center and Dr. Douglas Hatler for their care of her husband.
