

Paul Swain, 66, of Paducah, KY and Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, December 5th of cardiac arrest. He was raised in Metropolis, IL and graduated from Metropolis High School. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will always be remembered for his generous spirit and engaging smile.
The third son of Bernard and Eileen Swain, Paul was a United States Army Veteran and graduate of Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. He had a strong work ethic and exceptional interpersonal skills that brought him success in his professional life and endeared him to all who knew him. Paul worked in the aerospace industry for 20 years in Southern California. While living there he was selected to be President of the local Rotary Club and President of the Board of Managers for the local YMCA. He was also recognized as Rotarian of the Year and Volunteer of the Year with the YMCA. Since 2006 he has served as Vice President of Operations for Pittsburg Tank & Tower Company, Inc. In 2012, he reconnected with his high school sweetheart and they were married in January of this year.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Swain; son, Jeremy Swain (Colleen); daughter, Jamie Swain Wood (Josh); grandchildren, Harper and Quinn; step-daughters, Maria Farmer, Annie Framer (Jonathan Grover), Ashley Wentworth (Adam); and brothers, Carl Swain (Lynn), Richard Swain (Sharon).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:30 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Ben Hottle. Friends may visit from 4:30 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
