

She was born Pauline Ruth Doerner to George and Mable Doerner on January 15, 1931 at the family farm in Lynnville, Indiana. Pauline graduated from Lynnville High School in 1949 and continued to work on the family farm and live in the area where she met and married her sweetheart of 62 years, Rev. Thomas C. Hill. As a beloved pastor’s wife, she ministered with beautiful grace and kindness to multiple congregations on the Illinois District for The Church of the Nazarene. She served faithfully by her husband’s side in church ministry for nearly 40 years. Pauline devoted herself to caring for the elderly, providing for those in need and loving on her babies in the church nursery. She delivered meals to the elderly through Meals on Wheels for more than 15 years and served as the treasurer for the Illinois District NWMS. Pauline was cherished by so many from her congregations in Fairbury, Mendota, Monmouth, Rockford, Decatur, and Pittsfield, Illinois.
She leaves a legacy of her devotion to Jesus, faithful service, generous hospitality and deep family love to her three children: Rebecca Reeser (Bruce) of Gilbert, AZ, Daniel Hill (Karol Davis) of Decatur, IL and Joseph Hill (Phyllis) of Goodyear, AZ, six surviving grandchildren: Dr. Benjamin Reeser (Tina Chou), Brandon Reeser (Breanna), Joshua Hill (Natalie), Ashley Hill (Beau Taylor), SSGT Andrew Hill (Megan) and Sarah Gagliardo (Kirk), as well as seven great grandchildren: Cadynce and Haylee Hill, Autumn and Elijah Hill, Tyrese and Caymen Toliver and Khilin Taylor . She is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Doerner, and two sisters, Vera Barnhart and Joy Hanners.
She is preceded in death by a brother, George Doerner Jr., father, George Doerner, grandson, Brent Reeser, mother, Mable Doerner, and sisters Bernice Julian and Rosemary Marvel.
Visitation will begin at 11 am followed by funeral services at 1 pm, officiated by Rev. Kevin Sheese and his attending wife, Pamela of McAllen, TX at Church of the Nazarene, 9612 East Main Street, Mackey, IN. Burial service will immediately follow at Townsley Cemetery near Mackey.
