Randa “Dolly” Loeffler-Owens, 74, of Evansville, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. Born July 28, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana, Dolly was a 1966 graduate of Mater Dei High School.
Dolly worked as a legal secretary for several local law firms, as well as a secretary to the Honorable Gene E. Brooks, Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Prior to that, she worked as a secretary in the Career Counseling Center at the University of Evansville. She found fulfillment by helping those in need and placing the needs of others above her own. Traveling with her family, pampering her grandchildren, preparing large meals for Sunday gatherings, grooming her horses and caring for rescue canines brought her profound joy and happiness. In addition, she enjoyed playing cards (war, slapjack and trash) with her grandchildren, working sudoku puzzle books and solving crossword puzzles in the daily paper.
Dolly was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Helen Folz; grandfather, Charles Folz; mother, Sue (Folz) Loeffler; and father, Charles “Mike” Loeffler.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stephen Owens; sons, Jeffrey (LeAndra) Owens of Wadesville, IN; Michael (Erin) Owens of Wadesville, IN; grandchildren, Brandon Koch, Jackson Owens, Britton Owens, Heston Runde and Wade Owens. Dolly is also survived by her two sisters, Jennifer Baumgart and Lesa Raben both of Evansville.
As a wife, mother, grandmother and a friend, she will be remembered most for her unwavering love and support, infectious smile, generous heart and will be profoundly missed.
Friends may visit Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN 47720. Private services will be held with interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
