He was a WWII US Army Veteran and member of VFW Post #1114. He retired in 1987 from Ohio Valley Hardware after 39 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outside, bowling and played slow pitch softball into his 60's.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Gibson Steurer in May 2007.
He is survived by his son, David (Diana) Steurer; grandchildren, Scott (Lacy) Steurer, all of Evansville, and Dr. Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Steurer of Tempe, AZ; and great-grandchild, Benjamin Steurer of Evansville.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dan Gross, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
