

Richard had quit school at an early age and started his own paper route to sell Evansville Courier and Press on the corner of Pennsylvania St, and 1 St. for the mornings and afternoon editions. Richard started a job in between the hours of his first job at the American Theatre located at 626 Main St. He shined shoes for all the Military men while they watched the movie. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Marine Corps from 1955 - 1959. After returning home he became a Self Employed Siding Installer/ Carpenter working in Illinois, Kentucky, and Indiana for 25 years. He retired as self employed and started working for the Evansville Vanderburgh School. He retired as head custodian at plaza park school after 15 years.
In 1972, Richard married his best friend, Norma Jean (Williams) Hines. Richard and Norma loved to travel, camp, fish for bass and catfish. Richard was a remarkable husband, dad, and papaw. We all have
been blessed to have had him in our life and he will be missed here on earth by an enormous amount of family and friends.Richard and Norma have been long time members of St. Johns the Baptist Catholic Church. Their 50th Wedding anniversary was November 19.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Edna Hines; sister, Romona Cunduff and Sandy Fisher; brother, William Hines; granddaughter, Karey Elpers, of Indianapolis IN; grandsons, Richard (Bo) Bartley, of Evansville, IN, and Jimmy Buck,of St. Louis, MO.
Richard is survived by his wife Norma Hines, son, Ronald Schucker Jr. (Diane Buck), of Apache Junction, AZ; daughter, Teresa Cook (Raymond), of Evansville, IN; brother, Jeff Madden, and sister, Shirley Fisher both of Albion IL; granddaughters, Georgettea (Schucker) Geuss, (Darrell) of Haubstadt, IN, Danielle (Schucker) Snider (Diane) , of Arvada, CO, Angie Taylor, of St. Louis, MO; grandsons, Christopher Robertson (Mildred), and Joseph Bartley (Sara Madden), of Evansville, IN, Jayar Buck, of Apache Junction, AZ; great grandson, Robert Lacer III (Oliva), Darec Lewis, AJ Lewis, Bohdee Bartley, all of Evansville, IN, Leland Taylor, Joseph Collins, James Buck, Shawn Buck, Aaron Buck, all of St Louis, MO, David Klauka, Cameron Buck,of Apache Junction, AZ, Hunter Robertson, of Newburgh IN; great granddaughters, Anna Elpers and Elise Elpers of Indianapolis, IN, Samantha Kemp (Kyle), Emma Bartley all of Evansville IN, Stevie Snider of Arvada, CO, Tia Vincent, Shayna Roark, Jorden Taylor, Lauren Buck, of St Louis, MO, Serenity Buck, of Apache Junction, AZ; great great grandsons, Dawson Kempf of Evansville, IN, John (JD) Vincent, Kylar Overcamp, Ivan Haynes, Bentley Hummel, Bronxx Hummel, Christian Roark, Alex Buck , Bryson Buck, all of St. Louis, MO; great great granddaughters, Avianna Lewis, of Evansville, IN, Evelyn Roark, Abbigail Vincent, Leena Buck, of St Louis, MO; nephews, Mervin Fisher, Randy Fisher, Marty Fisher, Dale Fisher, Joe Madden, nieces Debbie Leveque, Sue Speare, Sherry Benette, all of Albion IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in honor of Richard Hines to Senior Helpers or Compassus Hospice. Special thanks to Dr Allaw for the information and compassion you showed Richard. Many thanks to Caregiver Carolyn for everything you did to help him. Also to Trish and Jack
