Bob served at the Pentagon during his service in the Army. He was a teacher at Fulton and Glenwood schools, and principal at Harwood for many years. In addition to education, farming was his life-long love. He was proud to be a part of his family farm, which has been in operation since 1890. Bob was past president of Evansville Teacher’s Association and a member of the ETA, ISTA and NEA.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Edna (Warren) Bain; first wife, Ruth Bain; second wife, Mary Lou Bain; sons, Teddy and Ricky Bain; and brother, Eugene Bain.
Robert is survived by his sister, Mary Louise Bain Sauer; his son, Terry; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid, a brief outdoor funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in the mausoleum garden at Park Lawn Mausoleum, 1526 South Green River Road. The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/funeralstreamusa.
