

He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from CSX Railroad, formerly L & N and Seaboard System, after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and a charter member of Willow Road Baptist Church for 45 years. He enjoyed woodworking and reading. He loved to travel and had traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahama’s. He loved the Lord and spent countless hours studying the scriptures. Bob was married to his wife, Belle, for 64 years and he was a devoted father who loved spending time with his family. He never met a stranger.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Susie Grigsby and Frances Mitchell; brothers, Allen, Earl, Albert, and Orby Green; and granddaughter, Rachel Ann Green.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ida “Belle” (Hughes) Green; sons, Dan A. (Cathy), Robert “Bruce”, and Gary B. (Sally) Green; grandchildren, Marcus Green, Matthew Green, Katie (Carey) Bockting, Benjamin Green, and Sarah Green; great-granddaughter, Emilia A. Bockting; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Cullison and Brother Steve Gorham, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
