Robert graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in 1954 and Evansville College in 1958 where he was an active member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
He served in the National Guard from 1958-62. Bob was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Daylight, IN. He square danced with his wife (Darlene) for 35 years. Bob was an avid Aces basketball fan ever since graduating from Evansville College. He also enjoyed playing clabber with his family, friends, and neighbors. Bob retired from Siemens Corporation in Princeton, IN in the financial area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Ann Bumb and brother-in-law, Robert Joseph Bumb.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Darlene (Deweese); daughter, Barbara Ann; and son, Steven Joseph (Helen); nephews, Gary Bumb (Laurie) and Robb Bumb; nieces, Sandy Struewing (Tom) and Debbie Elpers (Jim); grand and great-grand nephews and nieces.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Daylight, IN with Fr. Aaron Herrenbruck officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Elberfeld, IN.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Alexander North Chapel,4200 Stringtown Road and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at the church.
