Robert Eugene Garrett

Robert Eugene Garrett, 58, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Linda E. White Hospice House after a battle with cancer. He was born on February 27, 1966 in Santa Monica, CA to the late Robert Garrett and Dorothy Jean (Cutsinger) Chambers.

Bobby graduated from Glenwood and Bosse. He began thoroughbred exercise riding at age 14 and traveled the Kentucky circuit. Bobby worked his entire career with Thoroughbreds.

He had a kind and loving spirit. Bobby dearly loved his wife, kids, grandchildren and sister. Bobby loved the Lord and is going home.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; step-dad, Webster Chambers; and uncle, Bill Cutsinger.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Helen Garrett; sister, Angela Pickerill-Armstrong; daughter, Carri Sears (Alvin); son, Ryan Grigsby; son, Josh Grigsby (Kyndera); daughter, Bobbie Jean; sons, Christopher, Matthew and Jeremy; and his grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue in Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor Bud Hales.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Due to weather conditions at the cemetery, burial will take place at Clark Cemetery in Tennyson, IN at a later date.
