Robert J. Murnahan

Robert J. Murnahan, 88, of Evansville passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at home. He was born September 15, 1929 in Princeton, IN. Robert graduated from Owensville High School in 1947. He retired from Whirlpool after working there for 40 years. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church. He has been a Mason for over 50 years, Lessing Lodge #464 and a member of the Hadi Shrine for over 50 years, participating in the Color Guard. He enjoyed weekends at the river cabin, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Anna Murnahan, daughter, Karen Murnahan and grandson, Bobby Kochersperger. He is survived by daughter, Sheila Payton (Tony Hawkins); sons, Rick Murnahan (Linda) and Bill Murnahan (Marty); grandchildren, Justin Kinsey (Ashley), Shawn Kinsey, Ethan Murnahan (Rashmi), Dylan Murnahan (Abbey), Richard Murnahan II (Pam), Janelle Matsel and Brandy Brown, and many great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Rev. Kyle Hunter, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the funeral home. The Lessing Lodge # 464 will perform a memorial service at 6:00PM on Wednesday.
