

Bob started out work as a roofer then joined the US Army spending much of his time in Germany. Following his work as a roofer, Bob retired from the Vanderburgh County Highway Department after 25 years. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Smith; parents, Eugene and Marguerite Smith; sister, Betty Jo Merritt; brothers, Larry Eugene Smith and Charles Edward Smith.
Bob is survived by sisters, Kate Mossberger (Kenny), Rita Fleener (Craig), Frances Cook; step-son, Darrell Coudret; step-daughter, Laynie Lee Coudret; step-grandson, Stevie Schulz; and close companion, Mary Helm.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Deaconess Hospice and nurse, Lisa for their care and support.
Services will be 1:00PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Terry Gamblin with burial in Tupman Cemetery. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will perform military rites. Friends may visit, Wednesday, from 11:00AM until service time at the funeral home.
