I became aquainted with Bob in mid 1953, we were part of a group of young and crazy guys and gals that loved to dance and have fun. We hung out mostly at the Brown Derby on hwy 41 south and any other place that had live music and a dance floor. In 1958 Bob and his young family were living in Burbank, California. When my uncle Bill Kirtley and I showed up in Burbank with no place to sleep, Bob put us up for several weeks until we were able to get established, they lived in a very small one bedroom apt., the only available sleeping area for us was underneath the dining room table on the floor. I am not sure how long Bob remained in California before moving back to Evansville but I know we had several good, close years together before I moved to a town a distance away. Through the years I would visit with Bob when I traveled to Evansville for visits with my family. I havn't seen Bob for many years but I kept up with his health situations through my uncle Bill. He was a good and loyal friend. I can see his smiling handsome face as I write this. My condolences to the family.
