

Steve Barron, 74, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Linda White Hospice House. He was born on December 1, 1947 in Evansville, IN to the late Frederick and Dorothy (Ballard) Barron.
Steve was a graduate of Mater Dei High School in 1966 and retired from the Vanderburgh County Courts. He received his bachelor degree from Indiana State University in business as well as receiving his Masters of Religious Studies from Loyola University in New Orleans.
Throughout the course of his life Steve was an active volunteer with the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church soup kitchen and a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish for more than 25 years. Upon retiring from the Vanderburgh County Courts, Steve volunteered at Wabash State Correctional Facility as a chaplain, counselor, and teacher. He served as a facilitator for RCIA, a Eucharist Minister, and a member of the Men’s Club. Steve was awarded the Wabash State Correctional Facility volunteer of the year three times.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Barron and Jeanine Phillips; an infant brother, Francis Gerald Barron; and brothers, Robert "Fred" Barron, Jim Barron and Jerry Barron.
Surviving is his wife, Susan (Berridge) Barron; his children Sean and wife, Melissa, Adam and his wife Arwen, Jonathon and his wife, Noelle, Erin her husband, Mike; by a brother-in-law, Bill Phillip; as well as his grandchildren, Cameron, Katie, Rachel, Isaac, Eli, Briley, Brennan, and Kendall; and many nieces and nephews.
Steve and Susan celebrated their 45th anniversary on April 23, 2022.
A visitation will be held at Alexander North Chapel on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at All Saints Parish - St. Anthony’s Church Campus, officiated by Rev. Steve Lintzenich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
