

He was a graduate of the University of Louisville and US Air Force veteran. Ron worked for Wilbert Vault Company in Ft. Branch for 18 years and then moved to Lakeland, FL where he worked for Walt Disney World. He spent his career there as a Core Trainer for Magic Kingdom Food and Beverage, an instructor at Disney University, and facilitator for the New Hires Tour of Magic Kingdom. He received the highest award given to cast members: the “Partner in Excellence Award” and trophy of Walt and Mickey as partners. Due to health issues, Ron retired in May 2013 and moved back to Indiana in 2020, settling in Ft. Branch.
Ron met his wife, Linda, on a blind date set up by Linda’s sister, Beth, on New Year’s Eve 1990. They went on to have a loving and fulfilling life together where they enjoyed traveling, especially cruising. Ron and Linda went on over 30 cruises together. They vacationed in Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, (Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Monaco, Rome, Naples, Florence, Malta, and North Africa), Paris, Versailles, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich, Germany, as well as Salzburg, Austria. Ron and Linda had a favorite saying: “It’s never too late to live happily ever after”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip Ising; sister and brother in law, Miriam and Mac Riley; and sister in law, Kathy Ising.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Linda (LaVey) Ising; brothers, David Ising of Ft. Branch and Mark Ising (Susie) of Princeton; mother in law, Laverne LaVey of Evansville; brother in law, Keith LaVey (Becky) of Nicholasville, KY; sister in law, Beth Buchanan (Melvin) of Mt. Vernon; nieces, Tammy Shaw (Greg) of Evansville, Sherry White of Evansville, Kathy Jones (Bill) of Evansville, Tiffany Hughes (Gary) of Dillsboro and Kacey LaVey of Naples, FL; nephews, Randy Baugh of Evansville, Christopher Ising of Princeton, Adam LaVey of Bonita Springs, FL, Jeff Young (Megan Burns) of Evansville, and Matt Young (Junenna) of Mt. Vernon; great nieces, Kelsey Dus (Alex) of Evansville and Savannah Giles of Newburgh; great nephews, Tyler Shaw of Evansville, Eli Young, and Blake Young of Mt. Vernon; and great-great niece, Acacia of Newburgh.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday February 18, 2023 at Alexander North Chapel, with burial in White Church Cemetery Princeton, IN. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday February 17, 2023 and from 1:30 p.m. until service time on Saturday at Alexander North Chapel.
