Rosalena Buchenberger, age 98, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Evansville Protestant Home of natural causes. She was born on December 7, 1921, Mt. Vernon, Indiana to Charles and Lena Mooney.
She was a past member of Union United Church of Christ and a current member of St. John’s East United Church of Christ. She was a past president of Caze PTA and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for many years. She holds the Thank You Badge of the Girl Scouts of America.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Leroy; granddaughter, Teri Wilmotte Simmons; and sisters, Martha Mooney and Mary F. Moore.
She is survived by her son James Buchenberger (Robin) of Noblesville, IN; daughters, Rosalee Kelley (Robert) of Evansville and Maralee Wilmotte (Thomas) of Universal City, TX; grandchildren, Bart Kelley (Sandy), Donny Kelley (Chase) all of Evansville; David Wilmotte (Peggy) of Prosper, TX; Stephanie Buchenberger of Noblesville, IN, and Jameson Buchenberger of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jackson, Avery, and Wes Kelley all of Evansville; Michael and Madeleine Wilmotte of Prosper, TX, and Shayne Simmons of Frisco, TX; sister, Rosemary Beasley of Elizabethtown, KY; brother-in-law, Richard Moore of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.
Rosie’s family would like to thank the staff of the Evansville Protestant Home for their loving care and compassion over the last 4 years.
Funeral Services for immediate family and friends will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel with Pastor Bob Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Immediate family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
