

Rosalie was employed for two “summers” at Schultze Lumber Co., before graduating from Reitz High School in 1944. She was “cost clerk” at Boetticher and Kellogg Wholesale Co for 11 years, and secretary of St. Paul’s U.C.C. (12th Ave and W. Michigan St.) for 36 years, retiring from that position on August 1, 1991.
Rosalie was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C. where through the years she was active as assistant or co-organist; a member of the adult choir; and Sunday Church school teacher and secretary. She also was a member of Robert Morris Chapter 87 Order of the Eastern Star, and Bethlehem White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She was married to Rev. Dr. Arthur W. Newell on December 8, 1990. Rosalie enjoyed, reading, letter writing, music, crossword puzzles and “counted-cross stitch” work.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Frank; her husband (who passed away on their 10th Wedding anniversary); brother and sister in-law, James F. and Ruth W. Weiss.
She is survived by her faithful care givers, Robert and Shirley Sheets and Earl and Ruth Smith; cherished friends, and her out of town “step family” consisting of; son, David and his wife Kate, daughter Joan, 3 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 26, 2018 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel officiated by Rev. Dr. Robert Koch. Friends may visit 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
