We were privileged to hear Mama’s last parting words. She told me while I was crying at her bedside in the hospital to let go of past hurts so we can all get to heaven. When we were smiling at her she was delighted to see our smiling faces and she said “ you are all happy!”
Dorothy Day( 1897-1980-a devout Catholic convert, social justice activist and Benedictine Oblate) expressed this eloquently in her writings: “We want to be happy, we want others to be happy, we want to see some of this  joy of life which children have, we want to see people intoxicated with God, or just filled with a good steady joy of knowing that Christ is King and that we are His flock and He has prepared for us a kingdom, and that God loves us as a father loves His children, as a bride groom loves his bride,And that eye hath not seen nor ear heard what God has prepared for us!”

May we all live lives worthy of heaven!

While she was in the hospital and I was in tears, she said ,”tama na ang iyak”. “Alisin ang mga sama ng loob- para makarating sa langit. Mag kita kita tayo sa langit”. ( enough crying , let go of hurt feelings so we can go to heaven. Let us someday see each other in heaven) . When we were all smiling looking at her she said ,” you are all happy!”

To my dear cousins,

I was sad to hear about Auntie Charing's passing. She made baby pillowcases for Guillermo when he was born, 13 years ago. They were very special to us.  I also have very fond memories of our summer in Bicol  when we were kids (you even had rabbits!) and of course, all of us growing up in San Juan.  And Auntie Charing's amazing cooking.  Rest in peace, Auntie.

My dearest Mama, you’ve made a lot of sacrifices while I was growing up. I understand just what it took to make sure I grew up happy and strong.  Thank you with all my heart for everything you did. I love you and miss you Ma. <3

In my mind & in my heart, Auntie Chit was a beautiful heart & soul.  She was happy to see others happy.  She loved shopping not for herself but for other people.  I love her creativity & fashion sense…simple but elegant.  I’m grateful that i was among those whom she shared her selfless love to.  Have a smooth journey to Heaven , Aunitie Chit.  Just follow the Light.  I love & appreciate you.

So sorry to learn the passing of Charito your mom but glad she was able to make the trip back to the Philippines for your dad's funeral. The Ranola family was able to see her in person then. It was a sad but happy time.
Your mom as your Lola Nena and Lolo Pepe remembers her was a very respectful person to them during times of family gathering at Pureza,Santa Mesa and at Lola Paring's house at Boni Avenue,Mandaluyong. She was with your dad when he told us he passed the bar exam holding on the newspaper. Those were happy times and so is today. We all celebrate her life a beautiful person. Charito rest in peace. Prayers always.

Our ever dearest Mama, we will forever miss you. You've been such a loving, caring ,generous and kind hearted mother to all of us. I always remember your motherly advise and it has developed my character to be a good person. Your thoughtfulness  is also one thing i will miss. I felt so devastated by your loss and  i cried and cried but suddenly it came into my mind that our lives here on earth is only temporary and we all  must always be spiritually prepared  when the time comes. You will always be my idol Mama ,even though you have left us to be with God.  I will always pray for you. Please kindly tell Papa when you see him that I am always praying for him too.  I miss him too I love you Mama  . The pain in your face is gone    Again, I will always  pray for you Till we meet again

We have fond memories of Auntie Chit when we were neighbors in San Juan. We will surely miss her superb cooking, her creativity in sewing beautiful masterpieces and her sweet smile and soft voice.

Tia Chit was generous and kind. She was beautiful from the inside and out.  My fondest memory of her is when she calls me and we will have a long conversation over the phone.  She tells me stories of how growing up in Bulacan with her siblings and among other things. We also talked about my husband and children here in AZ.  We share stories of how life is doing for us living in America. I will miss her especially her voice.  Tia Chit left but not gone forever. She will always be in my heart.
