Rose was born to Abraham and Maria (Flores) Krause. She graduated from St. Anthony Grade School and Reitz Memorial High School. Rose was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Her father built a very unique and beautiful home across from Memorial High School, he named it La Quinta. As a poor boy in Mexico, he saw this mansion on a high hill and vowed he would build one like it. Some of the stones were brought here by train from all over the country. Her father and brothers established Krause Body Works, they were a mainstay company in Evansville and held many city contracts.
Rose had impeccable typing and shorthand skills. She was employed as a secretary at Mead Johnson Research Center for almost 20 years, legal secretary for Lynn & Lynn and Johnson and Carroll law firms, Secretary for EVSC, and secretary in Internal Affairs in the Evansville Police Department. She would still write notes to herself in shorthand. Her favorite activities were doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, listening to local live bands, and playing the piano. She especially loved being around people and engaging in conversations. She never, ever wanted you to call her when Wheel of Fortune was on.
Rose is survived by niece, Sharon (Gene) Deutsch; and many more nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Alma (Harold) Buecher; brothers, and their spouses, Abe, Shuie and Tom; also nephews, Timothy (Doris) Buecher and Bob (Sandy) Grimm.
