

Rosetna (Massey) Mayse, 83, of Lakeland, Florida entered fully into the presence of the Lord on December 12, 2023. Rosetna was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 8th, 1940 to the late Joseph Sr. and Rose Massey.
She lived on the west side and attended Mater Dei High School. She married her husband Gerald (Foo Foo) Mayse, Sr. in 1957. After raising five children together, Rosetna received her nursing degree from Vincennes University at 50 years of age. Rosetna and Gerald built their dream home on Lake Helmerich in Huntingburgh, Indiana where they spent their days enjoying the woods, cooking and fishing. They were married for nearly 50 years until he lost his battle with cancer in 2004. Rosetna was eager to explore every corner of the world and often took trips with friends and family. She spent her last years in sunny Lakeland, Florida where her heart was the happiest. She will be greatly missed for her quick wit, her love for card games and candy, and her warm, contagious laugh.
Rosetna was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Massey Jr. and her sister, Nancy Lee.
She is survived by three sons, Gerald (Lori) Mayse Jr., Kenneth Mayse, and David Mayse; two daughters, Shelley Buchanan and Tamara Weber; siblings Carl (Rosalie) Massey, Alice Sears, Yvonne Sue (Bob) Schuster, and Kimberly (Ron) Imel; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel - 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, Indiana. Public visitation will begin at 10am and the service will begin at 12pm. The celebration will continue for close family and friends at the American Legion Post #8 - 6001 New Harmony Road Evansville, Indiana.
