Obituary of Rosie Holley
Rosie Lee Holley, 85, of Evansville, IN, quietly went to sleep on Friday, April 13, 2018, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born August 24, 1932, in Dublin MS, to the late James and Carrie (Frieson) Miles. Rosie adored and cherished her family and the values she instilled in them. She had a hand in all of her grandkids and great grandkids lives; to them she was their “First Lady.” Rosie loved to cook and gather together with her family, shopping, playing cards, music, reading and crossword puzzles. She was a faithful servant of Jehovah for over 40 years and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Maxwell Avenue. Rosie was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She touched everyone’s heart that she met and would feed anyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Holley, Sr., children, James Miles, William Wildy and Patrice Wildy; son-in-law, Larry King; grandchildren, Angela and Lena Barnes. Rosie is survived by her children, MayBelle Barnes (Donald), Oliva King, Mario Thomas of Broadview, IL, Andre Wildy, Angela “Renee” Barnes (Kevin) and Adrien Wildy; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Bondurant; six granddaughters and 11 grandsons; A host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Lucy Dell Miles of Evansville; aunt, Lucy Henry of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 20, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Elder Jeffrey Dunbar, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Cancer Fund.
