Roy Wilson Forshee, Jr., 77, of Evansville, IN passed away at the Linda E. White Hospice House on July 6, 2024. He was born in Franklin, KY on December 8, 1946.
Roy enjoyed working in his yard, old western movies, spending time with his friends, and passing on his wealth of knowledge to his great-grandsons. He served in the Army Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He also retired from Alcoa with the Steelworkers Local #104.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy, and his parents, Roy, Sr. and Berda Forshee.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Michelle Rodgers and Melissa Forshee; granddaughters, Ashley Wilson and Mallory Dean; great-grandsons, Jake Wilson, Aden Wilson and Levi Walters; brother, Mike Forshee; and life-long friends, Steve Weigand and Jim Carnahan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Roy’s family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Linda E. White Hospice House, including Roman, Karri, Melynda, Alisha, Anne, and Autumn.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, officiated by Rev. Roman Lambert. Entombment will follow.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN, and on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the cemetery chapel.
