OBITUARY

Ruth Ann Hall

June 18, 1950June 16, 2020

Ruth Ann Hall, 69, left for heaven at 12:57 p.m. on June 16, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on June 18, 1950, to the late Raymond and Irene Jahn in Huntingburg, IN.

She had a great faith in Christ and was known to encourage others in their faith and share the love of Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Methodist Temple, where she participated in Seekers Sunday School Class, Sarah Fellowship, United Methodist Women, and an exercise class at the church. She was a student in the community Bible Study Fellowship.

She served as treasurer of Wesselman Park Neighborhood Association for 12 years.

Ruth had earned an associate degree at USI and had been a bookkeeper at F’s Steak House and a beautician at Lou’s Beauty Salon. She used her sewing skills to sew a banner for the Sons of the American Revolution colonial color guard, and marched in the parades with her husband, Bob.

Ruth enjoyed travel, movies, working with flowers, and most of all, being with her family. She treasured her time with her three grandchildren. She had a special bond with them, and her memory will live on in them.

She was an optimistic and unassuming person with a smile for everyone. Her family is grateful that she was able to receive the gift of life though a kidney transplant. As her health began to decline, she decided not to be considered for a heart-kidney transplant so that someone else might receive the organs. Ruth asks others to consider being an organ donor.

Surviving are her husband, Bob, of 48½ years; daughter, Renee Chandler (Mark); grandchildren, Andrew Chandler, Mallory Chandler and Aiden Chandler; brother, Tom Jahn (Barbara) of Ireland, IN; sisters, Rita Weyerbacher (Ron) of Huntingburg, IN, Donna Beadles of Huntingburg, IN, Carol Borman (Ed) of Dunedin, FL, and Marty Coomer (Steve) of Huntingburg, IN; sister-in-law, Donna Baggett (Dale); and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Methodist Temple, officiated by Rev. Andy Payton. Friends may call on Friday, June 19, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers, Ruth asks people to consider making a donation to United Methodist Youth Home, 2521 N. Burkhart Road, Evansville, IN 47715 or Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, 3701 Bellemeade, Evansville, IN 47714

Bob and all the family....sharing in your sorrow of the loss of your dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister (in-law too), Aunt and precious friend. May the love of family and friends, and the massive love of our Great God surround you during this time and the days ahead without her shining light. As believers, we would fail in the hope our Savior gives us if we didn't take a moment to rejoice in her entering the eternal home He has prepared for her and where she no doubt heard the words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." While nothing will ever replace the love and joy she brought to each of you, and your heart may ache more than you think possible over the days, weeks and months ahead, it's my prayer the Hope and Promise God gives us that we will one day reunite with our loved ones will sustain you as you now share and celebrate Ruth's life with those who loved and knew her, and as you honor her with your lives well-lived going forward. Prayers and God's blessings.

Bob,
My heartfelt condolences on the loss of Ruth. As Believers, we rejoice that she is with our Father. As humans, we mourn because of physical separation from a loved one. May your sweet memories and your assurance of seeing her again comfort you in the days to come.

Ruth was such a sweet, gentle lady. She was always affable and outgoing--and willing to lend a helping hand. We know you'll miss her terribly. It seems that life can be so unfair at times to take the really good people from us so soon. We send our love to the Hall family,

The Hall Family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Ruth. She and I had graduated from Huntingburg High School in 1968 and she was always friendly to me. We ran into each other a couple of times in Evansville and we joked about having the same last name . I was Donna Hall in high school and she was now Ruth Hall by marriage. So many memories from back then. I was hoping to see her at our 50th class reunion, but unfortunately she couldn't make it. I didn't know she was sick. I would want her to know that I am an organ donor.
Thoughts and prayers to you all. Fondly, Donna Bordfeld

Ruth was a great friend of the Ohio Valley SAR. She made a banner for our chapter to use in parades. Everyone that knew her knew she was a Christian lady. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She is with Jesus now and won't have any more pain.

Ruth Hall was such an inspirational lady. No matter how much her health was affecting her she always had a great smile and uplifting spirit to greet each person. There was no doubt that the Lord Jesus was with her. I will never forget the day in our Sunday School Class that Ruth warned us that we may hear music coming from her chest. Which happened. It was the warning that her pacemaker battery was getting low on power and she needed it replaced. I did not know if I should laugh or call for an ambulance. She let us know it was scheduled for replacement within a few days. Ruth was awarded several awards from the Ohio Valley SAR Chapter that Bob & I were members for her support of the chapter including a great banner she made for us.
