Sandy Stevenson Henze

Sandy Stevenson Henze passed away Friday, October 3, 2014, with her family at her side. She was born September 18, 1945, in Louisville, KY, to the late Aleene and Joseph Stevenson.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a preschool teacher for 29 years, serving as a founding member of Westminster Preschool and later opening Henze's Preschool in her home, retiring in 2009. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. Other passions included making ceramics and collecting dishware and American Folk Art. Sandy was known for her engaging personality, hearty laugh and clever wit, which made her a friend of many. She was a very giving person, loved baking and sampling desserts.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronald; sons, Charles and Kevin; daughter, Sharon Miller; and grandchildren, Emma, Ruth, Olivia, Samuel, and Selah.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, Octoer 10, 2014, at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, officiated by Rev. Jack Arney of Crossroads Christian Church, with burial to follow. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and Allied Medical staff at the Cardiac Intensive Care Units at the Deaconess Hospital Downtown for their compassionate care to Sandy and her entire family.
