Sarah Goodwin

She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Sarah was a wonderful cook, homemaker and caregiver. She took care of everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon L. Goodwin; daughter, Karen Sweeney; brothers, Rick and Edward Beard; brother-in-law, Ed Light; and sister-in-law, Mary Beard.

Sarah is survived by sons, Pete (Retha), David (Pattie), Tim (Darla); sisters, Judy (Ben) Fulton, Becky Light; brothers, J.D. Beard, Ronnie Beard; sister-in-law, Betty Beard; son-in-law, Robert Yaratch; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; many very special nieces and nephews, many were like her own children; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, July 2, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Robert Simpkins with entombment in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit, Sunday, July 1, 2012, from 2:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
