Scott A. “Scooter” Lantaff, 64, of Evansville, IN passed away accidentally outdoors at his home on Sunday, July 7, 2024. He was born in Evansville, IN on September 5, 1959 to Marion Lantaff and Judy (Grisham) Lantaff.
Scott grew up in Vanderburgh County and graduated from Reitz High School. He was a hard worker. He retired as a chemical operator at General Electric/SABIC after 30 years. Scott loved all styles of music, and enjoyed going to concerts. Scott was a life-time member of the West Side Sportsman's Club and the River Bend Association. He loved the outdoors, spot shooting and fishing. Scott enjoyed traveling and being on the beach near the ocean. He was a very patient, kind, gentle, giving, positive and loving man.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marion “Mert” Lantaff; and step-daughter, Rachel E. Blackburn.
Scott is survived by his wife of 24 years, Connie Lantaff; mother, Judy Lantaff; sisters, Julie Williams (Kirk), and Jennifer Sexton (Brent); step-son, Robert Blackburn (Dana); grandchildren, Brayton, Brenna, and Brooklyn; mother-in-law, Janet Bennington of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Gene Backes. Burial at Alexander Memorial Park will follow.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel and continued on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
