Sharon Ann Groeninger, 78, of Evansville, IN passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at River Bend Nursing Home. She was born on October 6, 1944 to the late Henry and Margaret Avers.

Sharon attended Lockyear’s Business College. She was a mother to all who met her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Groeninger; sister, Henrietta Rumade; brother, Henry Alvers.

Sharon is survived by her children, Vince Peckinpaugh (Jeri), Stephen Peckinpaugh, Irvin “Bud” Groeninger II, Roselina Messamore (Charles), Krista Dunkerson, Terry Groeninger; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Susie Rose, Annie Brown; nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Rick O’Daniel with burial to follow at Corydon Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Corydon Missionary Baptist Church in Corydon, KY.
