Shirley J. Lawson Campbell, 82, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and family at Red Bank Nursing Facility on Monday, January 8, 2024. She was born in Madisonville, KY on July 31, 1941.
Shirley enjoyed singing and playing gospel music. She also loved to spend time with family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Tempie Nantz; siblings, Howard, Eugene, Paul, Charles, Ruth, and Betty Nantz; first husband, William Thomas Lawson; children, Thomas Wayne, Christopher Dale, and Rebecca Jean Lawson.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 8 years, Allan Campbell; son, Jason Lawson (Candi); grandchildren, William Buckman, Jonathan Lawson, Elizabeth Johnson (Dallas), Ashley Lawson, Hannah King (Kristian), and Stephen Lawson; five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Haven Pentecostal Church, 425 Kresge Drive, Henderson, KY officiated by Rev. Phillip Wagoner and Rev. Glen Humphreys followed by burial in Onton Cemetery in Slaughters, KY. Friends and family may visit on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
