Shirley May Hager

Shirley was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where she and her husband, Jim ran the Fall Festival Booth for 17 years. She retired from the “Wooden Indian” at the University of Evansville. Shirley loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed crocheting and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James “Jim” Hager.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Neiswinger (Rick), Jeanine Kissel, and Jamie Tinsley (Tracy); grandchildren, Brad Neiswinger (Chelsea), Matthew Neiswinger (Becca), Christopher Neiswinger, Dillon Coultas, Shelby Hammers (Aaron), Austin Kissel, Melissa Clark (Sam), and Michael Tinsley (Christina); 10 great-grandchildren and two on the way; sisters, Patricia Posilero and Donna Devine both of Norfolk, Virginia, and life friend Lee Pirnat (Brian).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 301 SE First Street, Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. Holly Rankin Zaher with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
