

He was a US Navy Veteran. He was one of the first Detectives with the Vanderburgh County Sherriff’s Office and retired as Sergeant 1993 after 25 years of service. He worked in security for 15 years for Steve Chancellor. He was a Christian and enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and boating.
Stanley is survived by his son, Terry Garrett of Evansville; daughters, Laura Black of Grandview, IN and Tamara Garrett of Evansville; grandchildren, Brian Garrett, Jessica Black, Bryan Hale, Jacy, Amber and Noah Garrett and Jaime Torres; great-grandchildren, ShyAnne and Kaleigh Torres; sister, Janet Hudson of Evansville; and great-niece, Megan Garrett.
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 14, 2010, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Everett Freels with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military services at the cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
