After high school Stan worked a Lewis Bakery until he was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served for two years. Upon his discharge, he returned to the Lewis Bakery until he joined his father Layton in what is now a third generation family business Arrow Pest Control which he owned and operated until 2007. Stan’s interest included horseracing with his good friends Artie Merrick, Bob Jarvis, Stan Rigney and his dad. He loved to go fishing, boating and attending flea markets at Lake Barkley with his best buddy, Teddy Johnson. He especially loved it when the entire family gathered at the lake for a long weekend of fun. Stan had many names Bub, Bubby, by family and friends, Grandpa, Gramps, Poppy, Poppy cat and Papaw by the grandkids which he loved dearly.
