He was a lifelong west-sider and attended West Terrace Elementary School. In 1971, he graduated from Reitz High School and once remarked he was released “on good behavior”. Steve worked for many years with Labor Union Local 561 but was forced into early retirement due to an injury. Later in life he became a self-taught computer guru and earned quite a following from his ability to save everyone from the frustration of inevitable computer malfunctions. Steve enjoyed riding Harleys, four-wheeling at Interlake, arrowhead and coin collecting, photography, and took up bicycling when he got on a health kick. He was an inquisitive person who had the knack to master anything that caught his interest. He was well read and knowledgeable on many subjects varying from politics to the stock market. Most of all, Steve was an honest and decent man who viewed the world through a slighty different lens while always maintaining a sense of humor. He will certainly be missed by those of us lucky enough to be his friend. We wish him comfort and peace on the next part of his journey.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Myra; and father, Bob, who Steve affectionately called “Pop Gun”.
A graveside service will be held 12:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018, at Alexander Memorial Park.
