Obituary of Steven B. Titzer
Steven (Steve) Bernard Titzer, 58, of Evansville, IN passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at home in his sleep, a sudden yet peaceful death due to complications from his treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia. He was born in Evansville, IN on March 25, 1960 to Thomas and Mary Ann (Dudine) Titzer. Steve was a civil engineer, project manager, and project estimator at Blankenberger Brothers, Inc. for 27 years. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1978, and the University of Evansville in 1982. He was a current member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where he received the Brute Award and the Bilskie Award. Steve also received the Tim Unfried Award for volunteer work and served as a chairman of the Holy Rosary Summer Social for 15 years. He was a member of the Southern Indiana Triathalon Team, Team 13, and Band of Runners. He was an Ironman Triathlete and an IPA Connoisseur. Steve was preceded in death by his late wife, Cindy (Sharp) Titzer and mother, Mary Ann Titzer, both in 2013. He is survived by his wife, Heather (Bersch) Titzer; her sons, Austin, Maxwell, Parker, Kevin, and Conor King; dad, Tom Titzer (Linda Lockyear); sister, Anne Stevens (Mike); brother, Pat Titzer (Mitzi); brother, Doug Titzer (Kristine); sister, Christine Rasmussen (Eric); nieces and nephews, Ben and Melanie Titzer, Kelsey Stevens (Scott Wright), Katie Bunca (Jeff), and Tumo Rasmussen; beloved pets, Barney, Poncho, Tigger, Pippin, and Nala. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 N First Avenue, officiated by Fr. Jay Davidson and Fr. Bernie Etienne, with entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
