

Steven N. Walter, 61, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was a native of Evansville, Indiana. He ttended Christ the King elementary and Reitz Memorial High School. He received a BA from Emory University and completed his graduate work at McGeorge School of Law and University of Northern California.
While in law school, Steve met his wife, Kristin Clemensen Walter. Shortly afterwards, they moved their family back to Evansville. Steve worked for Ferro Chemical Corp, Sysco Corporation, was adjunct faculty at Ivy Tech Community College and in his spare time he was a substitute teacher for EVSC. Steve served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
His friends and family will remember him for his love of camaraderie, festivity, brilliance and wit. He could often be seen at his favorite tavern or golf course having a wonderful time with lifelong friends. More than anything, Steve will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He provided loving hospice care for his mother for many years and full time care for his wife who passed in March, 2008. His love was shown to his family every day by his selfless care and devotion.
He was preceded by his wife, Kristin Clemensen Walter; mother and father, Patricia and William Walter; and granddaughter, Cassandra Barret.
He is survived by daughters, Leslie Brown and Shelly Barrett; son, Sean Walter; grandchildren, Jordan Barrett, Samantha Powers, Joshua Claspell, Bryce Barrett, Willow and John Henry Brown; and sister, Bethanne Brown.
A funeral mass will be held at 9AM on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at St. Benedicts Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave, officiated by Fr. Harold Hammerstein. A reception for family and friends will be held in St. Ben’s Woodward Center after the funeral mass.
