

J. Sue Anderson (Roberts), 93, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at The Village at Hamilton Pointe. She was born on September 15, 1932 in Spencer County, outside of Rockport, IN to the late James and Lyndall (Miller) Roberts.
Sue was a graduate of Rockport High School and graduated from Protestant Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. She received a B.S. in Nursing from Evansville College and a Masters Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from Indiana University. Sue was employed at the Evansville State Hospital; V.A. Hospital in Indianapolis, and taught Psychiatric Nursing at the Evansville College. She belonged to the Daughters of the Nile, Evansville Museum, Philharmonic Guild, and the U. of E. Theater Society. Sue was a member of the Methodist Temple and the Evansville Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Dee Ann and Jack Waterman; niece, Jayne Waterman; and her husband of 37 years, Milton H. Anderson, M.D
Sue is survived by her stepsons, Dr. Gregory (Beth) Anderson, Dr. Tony (Donna) Anderson, Dr. Clark (Deborah) Anderson, and Eric Anderson; nephew, Mark Waterman; nieces, Jo Beth Chambers and Christine Gilbert; step-grandchildren, Margaret Ting, Evan Anderson, Corey Anderson, Lucien Anderson, Dana Anderson, Erica Caputo, Stephanie Tassin, Anthony Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Austin Anderson and Emma Skikos; and many step-great granddaughters and step-great grandsons.
Her gentle strength, her wisdom, and her generous heart will be deeply missed by all those whom she loved and who knew and loved her in return. She was a special lady.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714. Friends and family may visit from 12:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville, IN
