Susan was a Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. Prior to joining the staff at Deaconess, she worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she was also a clinical instructor at the University of Michigan Medical School. Susan loved her two daughters and spending time with her family, including her new grandson, Jack. She also enjoyed running. She had previously run several marathons, including the Boston Marathon. She enjoyed skiing and spending time with her dogs.
Susan is survived by her daughters, Jori M. Loren (Stuart) and Megan E. Gravelyn (Joe); grandson, Jack Loren; sisters, Jill Robach (Kevin), Sally Carpenter (Bob); brother, Craig Shaw (Jan); nieces, Tatum Robach; and nephews, Carmeron Robach, Mike, Brian, Phillip, and Will Shaw.
Her family would like to thank her colleagues, friends and medical staff at Deaconess Hospitals for their care, friendship and support during her battle with cancer.
Friends may visit on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel. A Private Service will be held at a later date.
