Sylvia Prentice Dart

She was born in 1943 to James and Elizabeth (Warren) Prentice in Holyoke MA.

Mrs. Dart attended Williston Northampton Prep School in Easthampton, MA. She was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, with a Bachelor of Science focusing on Mathematics.

She worked over 40 years for IBM as a computer programmer. She was very proud of all the work she did with IBM and enjoyed working with computers and technology when not at the office. She also supported and help her husband with his insurance sales firm, Dart Associates.

Sylvia enjoyed snow skiing, reading, and taking boat rides around the lake. Later in life she enjoyed visiting and spending time with her grand puppies: Max, Ivy, Otter, and Cooper. When she saw the pups, her eyes would light up and she would get a big smile on her face.

Sylvia loved to travel and took many adventures with Charlie. They visited numerous countries, took cruises, and drove anywhere they could. That could be driving to Alaska, to driving across Canada, to just getting into the car and going somewhere new. One would not know where they were going or may have been.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles whom she had been married to 52 years before his death and grandson Hudson Dart.

Sylvia is survived by her son William Prentice Dart (Debra), grandson William Prentice Dart II (Makayla), granddaughter Addison Jane Dart, sister Diane Prentice, niece Sloane Prentice (Eric) and great niece Erica Prentice.

Family would like to thank all the folks at Holiday Village and Heritage Center (Rehab, Skilled Nursing, and Hospice) for all their assistance and taking care of her the last few years.
