Sylvia Jean Woods

Sylvia Jean Woods, age 66, of Poseyville, Indiana passed away with family by her side on Friday, April 12, 2024. She was born on November 19, 1957 in Evansville, IN to the late Clifton Roscoe and Juanita (Herron) Cleek. She worked at Anchor Industries for over 34 years as a Welder. She loved to scrapbook, garden, looking at waterfalls and lighthouses, going walking and hiking, and canning goods from her garden. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and they could easily talk her into doing something they might get in trouble for! Sylvia is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim Woods; children, Shawn (Stephanie) Woods, Shannon (John) Turner, Jessica (Kirk) Good; grandchildren, Devin Rowe (Alisha Amos), Dakota Parker, Hailey Ann Woods, Kirstin Woods, Logan Woods, Carson Woods, Briar Good, Bayah Jean Good; great grandchildren, Lincoln Titzer, Knox Rowe, and baby Rowe; brothers, Randy (Linda) Cleek, John (Melissa) Cleek; sisters, Ruth Runyon, Rita (Steve) Swader; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Cleek and Curtis Cleek. Friends and family may gather for a Visitation on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville IN. Jeans and t-shirts are required by everyone in attendance! If you wear a suit, she may haunt you. In lieu of flowers please consider planting a flower in your yard in her memory.
