Ted was born June 23, 1942, in Evansville, to the late Herbert and Lorena (Wilson) Morris. He was a graduate of Central High School. Ted honorably served in the United States Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal as well as Sharpshooter and Parachutist Badges. He was married to Joan Lawson Mackey Morris from October 22, 1983, until her death on May 11, 2020.
Ted was a hard-working perfectionist with a dry sense of humor, big dimples, and a wide smile. He spent most of his career as a truck driver, retiring from Central Transport. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114. Ted and Joan enjoyed dancing and traveling to Las Vegas and other destinations to play the slot machines. Once the casino opened in Evansville, they loved “going to the boat”. He grilled the best burgers and enjoyed caring for their home and yard and was proud to keep the pool crystal clear for all to enjoy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ted was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Philip; sister, Donna Lee; stepdaughter, Pamela Barnes; and stepsons-in-law, Bruce Barnes and Gregory Garrett.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Teresa Grisham (Glenn) of Evansville; stepson, Darryl Mackey of Evansville; stepdaughters, Sandra Mackey Dicks of Murfreesboro, TN and Kristi Mackey Garrett of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Chad Schoening (Alicia), Joni Mackey, Matt Grisham (Lindsay), and Jami Eaton; great-grandchildren, Jakobi Jones, Jensen Grisham, Theodore Jones, and Xavier Nienaber; sister, Ruth Littlepage; sister-in-law, Pat Morris; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
