

Dr. Teresa A. Beckman (Olivey), 55, of Evansville, formerly of Henderson, our angel, was taken away on Monday, October 13, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born February 28, 1959, in Ft. Wayne, to Frederick and the late Betty (Bireley) Beckman.
She graduated from Bishop Luers High School in Ft. Wayne in 1977, from Indiana University – Bloomington with a Bachelor of Chemistry in 1981, and IU Medical School in 1985. She interned at St. Mary’s Medical Center and Deaconess Hospital. She was the Assistant Director of the Deaconess Residency Program before starting her private practice in 1993. Teresa was instrumental in starting the ECHO Clinic and was its first Medical Director, first physician, and a founding board member. She was a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Board Certified Family Physician, and a member of the Vanderburgh County Medical Society. She loved to sew, knit and crochet, including crocheting afghans and preemie caps for charity. She also loved her cats and Cardinals and Cubs baseball.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Kevin Olivey of Evansville; daughter, Abigail Sauer of Henderson; step-children, Devon, Brynn, and Reed Olivey; father, Frederick Beckman of Ft. Wayne; former husband, Mark Sauer of Henderson; brothers, John Beckman of Indianapolis and Tom Beckman (Chris Jacob) of Boulder Creek, CA; sister, Maribeth (Kevin) Leininger of Ft. Wayne; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 17, 2014, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 511 2nd Street, Henderson, KY, officiated by Fr. Ed Bradley. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street, Evansville.
