Tom graduated from F.J. Reitz High School and Evansville College. He was a member of the VFW Post # 1114. He was a long standing member of the R- Men’s Varsity Club. He was an avid Indiana University football and basketball fan, and a Nascar fan. Tom was a member of First Christian Church where he served as an usher. He was a proud Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn; father, Curtis; mother, Arla Jane (Gerkensmeier) Laubscher; step father, Clarence; step mother, Helen.
Tom is survived by his wife, of 26 years, Doralee; sons, Tom Jr. (Kurt), Joe (Tara); stepsons, Mark (Shannon) and Mike (Pam); eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Tom’s family would like to thank the staff at the VA and Deaconess.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Jerry Clark with burial to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1 and Wednesday 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
