Vicki M. Berfanger, 72, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She was born on July 24, 1951 in Evansville, Indiana to her beloved late parents, Jerry and Jeanine (Duncan) Berfanger.
Vicki graduated from Reitz High School in 1969, and went on to attend Deaconess School of Nursing where she graduated in 1978. She was a Registered Nurse for 20 years working mainly in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Room. She truly loved being a nurse and was considered to be one of the best. Being a nurse suited her servant heart and compassionate, selflessness spirit. Vicki was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
Vicki enjoyed knitting, reading and watching scary movies, but above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Family was everything to Vicki. She loved her family fiercely and always put them before herself. She was a dedicated and doting mom. She cherished her daughter, Sarah, every single day. She made sure to tell Sarah “I love you” and “I am proud of you” multiple times a day-for 40 years. Vicki was the best big sister to all of her siblings. She loved them so much, took such good care of them, and watched over them from the time they were kids up until her passing. She will be missed so much by her sisters. Vicki’s pride and joy was her beautiful grandson, her little buddy, Mason Parker. And she loved her sweet and sassy baby girl, Pebbles whom she lovingly referred to as her Boo-Boo!
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Jeanine (Duncan) Berfanger, Poo and Moo; maternal grandparents, George and Lida Mae Duncan; paternal grandparents, Ted and Jeanette Berfanger; niece, Michelle Berfanger; and her brothers, James and Ronald Berfanger.
Vicki will be sorely missed and survived by her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, Sarah, Jason and Mason Daniel; sisters, Debbie Berfanger and Cindy (Randy) Helmling; sister-in-law, Sharon Berfanger; nieces, Angie Laster and Lucinda Hosmer; great nieces and nephews, Kaylee Sue Walker (Glenn Vandever III), Lida (Zack) May, Robert (Lauren) Daugherty, Michael Daugherty, Shelley Daugherty, Miranda Nunn, Teri Martin, and Josie Higgs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 7700 Middle Mt. Vernon Rd., Evansville IN, 47712.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, officiated by Pastor J.D. Rose, with burial held in Sunset Memorial Park.
