

Viola Marie Whitehouse, 90, of Evansville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center. She was born July 30, 1925, in Evansville, IN to the late Harry and Clara Elsea.
She retired from McCurdy Nursing Home and was a volunteer for Salvation Army. Viola enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and her pet cats.
Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Whitehouse; sons, Edward D. Fuquay and Larry Ray Whitehouse; sister, Little Louise James; and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Homer W. (Tammy) and Ricky Whitehouse; grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Christopher, Dianna, and Homer II (Ashlee) Whitehouse, Chasity Simmons and Eddie Fuquay; great-grandchildren, Tami and Jacob Alverson, Trinity Simmons; brother, George “Sonny” Elsea; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 1:30 PM Friday, February 5, 2016, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, officiated by Jerry Wayne Whitehouse, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends visited Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, and Friday from 12:30 until service time at the cemetery chapel.
