

Wanda graduated from Central High School and Hanover College. At Hanover, she majored in English and Sociology, and received the Distinguished Senior Award. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at University of Southern Indiana.
She retired from Southwestern Indiana Mental Health Center where she worked as a social worker for over twenty years. She was a member of the Methodist Temple and served in the Peace Corp in Senegal, West Africa, from 1965 to 1967.
She loved to travel to China, Russia, and all over Europe. She was an avid reader and collector of many fine things, including dolls, and was the proud owner of Wanda’s Collectible Dolls & Gifts. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and her many friends. Most of all she cherished her role as “Mimi”.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Hay, in 1988. They were married February 1, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ceola Baldwin; and her brother, Tom Baldwin.
She is survived by her son, John Forest Hay; daughter, Alicia Montooth (Marcus); grandchildren, Hayden and Carter Montooth; sister, Rosie Baldwin; and brothers, Kevin and Tony Baldwin.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 25, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Kevin McKinney, with burial at Santa Claus United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dale, IN. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
