

Warren Richard Abbey, 92, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at Deaconess Gateway Hospital on Sunday, November 8, 2015. He was born July 1, 1923, to the late Harry and Irene (Hardz) Abbey in Wellsville, NY.
He was a WWII Navy combat veteran serving in the South Pacific. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He worked for Barger Engineering in Evansville before retiring in 1993. The family lived in Princeton for twenty years until relocating to Evansville in 1977.
Warren is survived by his wife of 62 years, Priscilla (Rowe); daughter, Susan of Hardyville, KY; son, Jon (Janet) of Evansville; grandchildren, Kindra (Nick) Mangarella of Evansville and Bryce (Sara) Abbey of Princeton; and great-grandchildren, Colton Mangarella and Hudson Abbey.
There will be no public visitation. A private family ceremony will be held, with burial at a later date in Fredonia, NY. Alexander Funeral Home – East Chapel is handling the arrangements.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oasis Dementia Care for their caring and supportive approach with Warren in his last days.
