He worked for 31 years with the Railroads, C&EI, then L&N, and CSX and was a member of VFW. He enjoyed collecting coins as a hobby.
William was preceded in death by daughter, Janet Arvin; and son, Roger Arvin.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruby (Miller) Arvin; daughters, Brenda Franks, Debbie Arvin; sons, William Arvin Jr. (Mary Kay); daughter, Sandy Jones Curtis (Jim); 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gerry Birkla (Bill).
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 8, 2011 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gene Backes, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 2:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Alexander West Chapel.
